It’s Showtime NYC! is proud to collaborate with legendary flexN dance artist Bones The Machine on I Feel Alive, a new multidisciplinary work incorporating Bones’ choreography, original music composition, and costume constructions created for the dancers of It’s Showtime NYC. Gearing to premiere in 2026, this partnership continues our mission to elevate street and club dancers through professional mentorship and creative exchange.
Shemar “Shem” Walcott
From performer to choreographer, Shemar “Shem” Walcott is stepping into a new chapter of his artistry. His debut work, Skyline, premiered at NOoSPHERE Arts, and next he’ll take the LOVEisLOVE stage before industry leaders, showcasing the future of street dance at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Dec. 1, 2025

It’s Showtime NYC! In its 11th year of activity, has become one of the largest street dance programs and companies in New York City. A program of the non-profit organization Dancing in the Streets, It’s Showtime NYC! provides performance and professional development opportunities to street and subway dancers as a legal alternative to dancing in subway cars. It's Showtime NYC! dancers have created a number of pieces and commissioned major new works from international dance makers such as Adesola Osakalumi (Bronx), Anne Nguyen (Paris) and Faustin Linyekula (Congo). The group was the first resident street dance company with monthly performances at The Metropolitan Museum of Arts’ 2018-2019 #MelLiveArts season, and created original work HipHop In Armor. Commission awards include Works and Process at the Guggenheim, Abrons Arts Center, the Shed, Symphony Space, NOoSPHERE Arts, Jamaica Performing Arts Center and HarlemStage, The dancers of IST have collaborated with the NY Philharmonic in a partnership with Casita Maria, and Bill T. Jones at the Park Avenue Armory. They performed at Works & Process at Alice Tully Hall & Summerstage, Symphony Space, Jacobs Pillow, Lincoln Center, Wave Hill, , The Civil Court of New York State, The Apollo, Crossing the Line Festival, Bryant Park Dance Series, The South Bronx Culture Trail, Bronx Museum of the Arts, River to River festival, Times Square Alliance, Weeksville Heritage Center, to name a few. Program members participated in cultural exchanges at La Place - centre culturel hip-hop and Centre National de la Danse (Paris), and in Rio de Janeiro for Ocupação Desmistifique and in Belgium. In 2018 dancers were Gibney's DiP Artist-in-residence. In 2020 It’s Showtime NYC! was nominated for a 2020 Bessie Award for Outstanding Breakout Choreographer. PBS program “Bare Feet with Mikaela Malozzi” In 2023-2024 the program received residencies at Bethany Arts Center, MANCC at Florida State University, Anderson Center in Minnesota, Governor Island, and Herbert Von King Cultural Arts Center.
